The Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) and the Fonds de recherche du Québec (FRQ) had the pleasure of partnering with Portia Ltd. to host the Gender Summit 11 North America.
Since 2011, the Gender Summit has become the principal forum to engage key stakeholders in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) to address efficacy, quality, and success in research and innovation. The Summit links individuals and communities in and across different regions and science sectors to engage in transformative actions on gender equity, pluralism, and diversity in STEM. The North American Summit went beyond gender-based differences to focus on equity and diversity in the broadest sense, such as inclusion of LGBTQ2 and Indigenous communities. As well, the Summit brought further the discussion beyond STEM to include social science and health research.
The sold-out event brought together more than 675 international delegates active in research, innovation, and policy development related to gender equity and diversity.
