Yves Beauchamp (PhD West Virginia University; MScA Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières; BEng Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières) is a full professor in the department of mechanical engineering at the École de technologie supérieure (ÉTS).
Dr. Beauchamp previously held the position of Vice Rector of the new campus and of development at the Université de Montréal and the position of Director General at the ÉTS, where, supported by a strong management team, he revitalized this university training ground for engineers, which became one of the largest in Canada under his leadership.
Dr. Beauchamp has received numerous awards and honours. He was elected Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering (2010), received the Medal of the National Assembly of Quebec (2013) and was made Knight of the National Order of Quebec (2014).
Dr. Beauchamp sits on a number of boards, including the Centre de recherche industrielle du Québec, the Montréal Museum of Archaeology and History – Pointe-à-Callière, the CHU Sainte-Justine, the Inno-Centre, the Canadian Academy of Engineering, the Inter American Organization for Higher Education, the Centre de développement de la relève scientifique et technologique, the Laval Cosmodôme and the Aéroports de Montréal Community Advisory Committee.
