If your nomination succeeds, you will receive an award letter, and you must adhere to the terms and conditions set out in it. As well, the names of the recipients will be announced at a public ceremony within the year after the award is made.
If your nomination succeeds, NSERC will contact you to arrange the start date of your Steacie Fellowship, and this date will be indicated in your award letter. NSERC will normally transfer funds to your university within 30 days of that start date.
NSERC recommends that you and your university follow best practices by signing a research agreement that defines the intellectual-property rights and obligations during your Steacie Fellowship. The agreement must be aligned with NSERC’s Policy on Intellectual Property, which promotes the use and/or exploitation of knowledge and open access to results of research funded by NSERC.
Note that:
You must acknowledge NSERC support in any communications or presentations about the research supported by your Steacie Fellowship.
As an objective of the Steacie Fellowship is to inspire others, you are encouraged to participate in outreach activities while you hold your award.
You will receive an outline of reporting requirements when you are notified of your award. You must provide a final report within 6 months of the end of your Steacie Fellowship.
